Update:
As the highly-anticipated CCO is only a day away (I know, try and contain yourself) it's time to check with your partner in crime as to whom is responsible for picking up the "entry" fee (bottle of wine or case of good beer). Also, don't forget your digital cameras as I'm sure there will be many moments we'll want to capture to laugh at later...
Also, some of us will be at Seymour Creek Driving range anytime after 9am tomorrow to warm up for a basket or two...feel free to drop on by (if ya think ya need it that is)..
Read below for other updates...
See y'all tomorrow (rain or hopefully shine)! Keep your fingers crossed as it is suppose to drizzle tomorrow...

That's right dimpleheads* and ball-hawkers* only 24 hours left until it's time to pull out the big dogs*, blades* and short sticks* and cruise around the six-ball course* in our BIPmobiles*! Due to the overwhelming enrollment and enthusiasm, the official “1st Annual Cousin Classic ‘Swing & Swig' Open” is a go!! (Failing a lightning storm of course)
After much debate and long late night heated discussions it has been suggested (and a good one I might add) to make the CCO (Cousin Classic Open) a “Scramble” tournament round of play. For those of you who aren't familiar with this style of play, don't worry it's fun, simple and relieves a lot of pressure (plus it's more fun to trash talk in teams of two)! So here are the rules (at least the ones I can think of – feel free to add)…
Date: Good Friday - April 14th
Place: Northlands Golf Course
Tee Times: **Need to arrive by 10am!**
10:31am (Teams 2 & 3)
10:40am (Teams 1 & 4)
Green Fee: $55 each (except for Team 5)
Cart Rental: $30 per cart ($20 for Team 2 (seniors rate))
Scramble Rules:
Teams of two (see below)
Each player must use 6 of their 18 tee shots as the 1st play ball. Leaving 6 open tee shots per team to decide which tee shot to use
After the tee shot, the “best ball” is chosen to play from (by the team) and played from there, this is repeated to the end of the hole (hopefully you make it there)
After 9 holes, the 2 foursomes are switched (not teams, just teams you are playing with)
The back 9 foursomes will be determined on day of play by draw
Tournament Entry Fee:
1 case of good beer (Lucky brand does not count as 'good') or 1 bottle of good wine per team – winning team takes all! That's right first place losers don't win a thing….
(PS - don't forget some for personal consumption - but be discrete! Suggest coming with beer already loaded in bag, out of site, etc. We actually want to make it past the 1st tee)
“Toonies-2-Win” Contest:
Time to turn-on (not that kind of turn on) your team member! Holes #3 and #12 (par 3's) are closest to the hole (off the tee sho)t wins. Simple rule, each team member coughs up $2 and the player who's ball lands closer than anyone else's (in the foursome) wins the pot ($8). That's right, I said player, not team – meaning each person for themselves.
Judging will be conducted by the
trustworthy and honorary
members of "Team Papparazzi & Jugs".
Teams (feel free to come up with other names):
In an attempt to ham-and-egg* the teams and avoid as many heliputters*, Bo Derek's* and 404's* as possible, the following teams have been thought of...
Team #1: “Team AC/DC” (Arabsky-Cheveldave/Double Chen*)
Lieane and Nicholas
Team #2: “Team Not-AJ”
Amber and John
Team #3: “Team Non-PC”
Pip and Craig
Team #4: “Team HE-men” (Harwood-Elliot)
AJ and Brandon
Team #5: “Team Paparazzi & Jugs” - Beer support staff undoubtedly the most important team
(also responsibile for documenting these charades, so bring your cameras!)
KT, Morgan, Sheryl and Judy
Wrap Up Party: - update
Following this tournament of champions, there will be a soiree (aka Bragging Rights Party) at John's place (thankfully just a short crawl from the course)! As the shiny new gas BBQ and oven have yet to be installed (ahem AJ), the food du jour (aka take out) will be chosen at the party of which John has graciously offered to cover. The only requirement is B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Booze, er "Beverage").
